Sylvie Lorsolo

Dr. Sylvie Lorsolo currently works as a Senior Scientist in AIR Worldwide's Research and Modeling Group. Her specialty is in meteorological analyses of tropical cyclones. Sylvie earned her doctorate in Geosciences (atmospheric science) from Texas Tech University studying tropical cyclones and their impact over land. Before she started at AIR Worldwide she worked the Hurricane Research Division of NOAA (HRD) where she focused on improving the understanding of hurricanes with an emphasis on the observational study of the hurricane boundary layer. She also developed an expertise in collecting and analyzing airborne radar data. During her tenure at HRD, she participated in field projects, taking part in flight missions into hurricanes.
