It is hard to believe, but since In Focus was launched on February 24, 2014, we have published 500 blogs! A total of 138 subject matter experts from AIR’s teams of scientists and engineers, actuaries and statisticians, software developers, and business analysts have contributed. Among us, we have covered a wide range of topics from hurricanes, floods, and earthquakes to cyber insurance pricing, reinsurance portfolio optimization, and marijuana-related liability. There are many more to come.
Blogging is a user-friendly way for us to provide you with industry-related news and commentary, insights into natural catastrophes and catastrophe modeling, some useful tips, and hopefully have a little fun along the way. (Our fourth Hurricane Contest is in progress!)
To mark the 500th post I’d like to highlight the six most visited In Focus blogs:
These six blog posts highlight topics of concern to a readership far wider than In Focus’ subscribers. In the first In Focus blog I promised that we’d post frequently about topics that are important to you and that help solve some of the challenges you face. This remains our focus.
We’ve already started work on the next 500 posts and are serious about two-way communication. We want to engage in a genuine dialogue—to hear what you have to say and to find out what you would like to hear from us. We post moderated comments and warmly encourage you to participate. Your feedback and comments are more than welcome, and we encourage you to share with us so that we can share with you more effectively.
