Hurricane Florence

Hurricane Florence made landfall near Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina, on September 14. A Category 4 hurricane at its peak, Florence weakened considerably before it reached the Atlantic coast, limiting wind damage. Florence slowed to a crawl as it moved inland, dumping massive amounts of rain over a large swath of the Carolinas.
