Moore Tornado

A massive tornado devastated a vast swath of Oklahoma City on May 20, 2013, destroying homes, businesses, and severely damaging two elementary schools and a hospital. The storm, rated an EF-5, carved a trail as wide as 1.3 miles and 17 miles long. AIR engineers were dispatched to document the damage on the ground and collect data that has informed a comprehensive update to the U.S. severe thunderstorm model.
