Location Builder Risk Fields

The following table describes the Touchstone location fields related to builder's risk for this location. For information about modeling Builder's Risk, see the Using Builder's Risk in Touchstone guide.

Touchstone supports secondary building characteristics for the following models and perils:

AIR Bushfire Model for Australia (AU WF)

AIR Coastal Flood Model for Great Britain (GB CF)

AIR Earthquake Model for Canada (CA EQ)

AIR Earthquake Model for Hawaii (HI EQ)

AIR Earthquake Model for Japan (JP EQ)

AIR Earthquake Model for the United States (US EQ)

AIR Hurricane Model for the United States (US HU), including the Storm Surge Module, as well as the AIR Tropical Cyclone Model for Hawaii (HI TC)

AIR Inland Flood Model for Central Europe (including Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, and Switzerland) (CE IF)

AIR Inland Flood Model for Great Britain (GB IF)

AIR Inland Flood Model for the United States (US IF)

AIR Severe Thunderstorm Model for the United States (US ST), including the Straight-Line Wind, Tornado, and Hail sub-perils

AIR U.S. Hurricane Model for Offshore Assets (US HU OS)

AIR Wildfire Model for California (US WF)

Each secondary building characteristic is applicable to only a subset of these models (perils), as the Perils column in the table below indicates.

Validation Rules

Default Value

Project Completion

       HI TC

       US EQ

       US HU

Completeness percentage of the building project at this location

Touchstone defines this value as the percentage of the project completed with the start of the corresponding policy. The project completion percentage is by the cost of the project.

This field only applies to the Average Project Loss (5) project phase code. If you specify No Builder's Risk (0) or another phase loss, Touchstone ignores the value that specify for the project completion percentage.

Defaults to a value in the Touchstone user interface

Can be a numeric value between 0 and 99, inclusive

Project Phase Code

       HI TC

       US EQ

       US HU

One of the following values to describe the vulnerability applicable to the phase of construction for the building project at this location:

Project Phase Code Value

No Builder's Risk (0)

Phase 1 (1)

Foundation and substructure

Phase 2 (2)

Phase 3 (3)

Walls and roofing

Phase 4 (4)

Interiors, mechanical (conveying, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection), electrical, furnishings, misc.

Average Project Loss (5)

Average project loss over the duration of the project

Worst Loss (6)

Project phase when the loss potential is highest

A value of No Builder's Risk (0) for this field indicates that the building is completed, regular risk is assumed, and Touchstone applies no builder's risk.

If the level of builder's risk is unknown, enter 0 for this field.

Defaults to a value in the Touchstone user interface

Worst Loss (6)
