Shimon Sugiura

Shimon Sugiura is a senior risk consultant in Verisk’s Tokyo office. Prior to joining Verisk, Shimon Sugiura worked for the Ministry of the Environment, Government of Japan, as a member of the team managing decontamination in the Kanto region from nuclear pollution caused by the Fukushima nuclear power plant failure. He previously worked for a GIS company, the Pasco Corporation, on projects to develop GIS systems for forestry, agriculture, and road management. He earned a Master’s degree in environment from the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences at the University of Tokyo and a Bachelor's degree in geology from Tohoku University (Miyagi).
