Australia weathers cyclone dual assault

"Cyclone Marcia intensified rapidly as it approached land,increasing in strength from an Australian category 1 tropical cyclone within sustained winds of slightly higher than 100 km/h (62mph) to a severe tropical cyclone of minimal category 5 strength with wind speeds estimated at 230 km/h (143 mph)," said Kevin Hill,atmospheric scientist, AIR Worldwide.
