Karthik Ramanathan

Dr. Karthik Ramanathan is a Senior Engineer, Manager, in the atmospheric perils vulnerability team within the Research and Modeling Department, working primarily on the wind and storm surge vulnerability of civil engineering systems. He is the lead engineer working on the development and validation of the vulnerability module of the U.S.Hurricane model. Most recently, he participated in a damage survey following Hurricane Sandy. Dr. Ramanathan holds two Masters Degrees in Structural Engineering, Mechanics and Materials from the University of Pittsburgh and the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a special focus on earthquake engineering.
