S. Ming Lee is president and CEO of AIR Worldwide. Ming is responsible for setting global strategy and overseeing worldwide operations.
Since joining AIR in 1996, Ming has filled a number of senior leadership roles and led several departments. He directed AIR’s pioneering modeling support for insurance-linked securities since their introduction and was directly involved in many of the insurance industry’s landmark securitization transactions. He has also led AIR’s work in the corporate, government, and weather risk management sectors, where he assisted corporations and government agencies in assessing their exposure to natural catastrophes.
Ming is a member of the Board of Trustees of GeoHazards International, whose mission is to end preventable death and suffering from natural disasters. He has served on the boards of the Global Earthquake Model (GEM) initiative, Atmospheric and Environmental Research (AER), and Verisk Climate, which is focused on providing solutions for enterprise climate and weather risk management.
Before joining AIR, Ming held senior executive positions at several leading information technology companies. A former U.S. Navy officer, he holds a BS in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a MBA from Stanford Business School.
