Starting in January, you will notice something different about AIR: a new logo. I’d like to share my thoughts on why we’ve made the change and what it means for you.

Last year marked the 30th anniversary of AIR, but it also marked the 15th anniversary of our acquisition by ISO®, the predecessor company to Verisk Analytics®. It’s an understatement to say that it’s been a mutually beneficial relationship, with ISO loss costs informed by AIR model results; collaborative solutions such as the new flood insurance program for personal lines from ISO, or 360Value® and the property-specific database in Touchstone®’s Data Analytics Module; and claims and loss data from ISO and PCS® used in the calibration of AIR models’ damage functions. Many of you know of these synergies and are asking for more, while some of you may not be aware of our relationship with Verisk at all.

Today, we’re working more closely than ever with our parent and sister companies on strategic initiatives, such as flood, cyber, aerial imagery and remote sensing, and a truly global data warehouse. We are on the verge of doing great things, spurred by big data, new technologies for making sense of that data, and enterprise-wide research into global solutions.

Important for you to know is that Verisk is investing in AIR’s future, as illustrated by the acquisitions (on our behalf) of Analyze Re and Arium. In fact, I would venture to say that being a Verisk business is one of the most compelling reasons to choose AIR over our competitors—as the benefits that accrue to us from that relationship naturally accrue to you as well. Our new logo, which visually aligns with that of our parent company, signals that by partnering with AIR and Verisk, you have access to the most comprehensive risk management solutions available.

Thanks to you, AIR has enjoyed tremendous momentum over the last several years—momentum that we fully expect to continue. Of most importance, however, is our continued commitment to offering the best models and technology, the highest level of service and support, and to forging even stronger partnerships with each of you.
